Warren Morton

Master Technician / WOF Inspector

With 15 years in the automotive industry, Warren has built a strong expertise, particularly with European vehicles. His career began in 2009 at Volkswagen in South Africa, where he achieved his qualification in 2012 and became a Volkswagen Master Technician by 2015.

In 2019, Warren and his family relocated to New Zealand, where he has since worked with brands such as Volkswagen, BMW, and Rolls-Royce. His two years as a claims assessor have further expanded his diagnostic skills, giving him a broad perspective on automotive issues.

In 2024, Warren joined the Avanti team, bringing his wealth of knowledge and experience to our workshop. Outside of work, he cherishes time with his wife and two daughters, often refereeing their rugby games and shuttling them to various sports events across Auckland.

Ryan Morrow

Automotive Technician

Ryan's passion for the automotive industry began with completing a pre-trade course which led to a six-year career with a BMW specialist workshop on Auckland's North Shore. During this time, he developed strong technical expertise and a deep understanding of BMW vehicles, building a reputation for quality workmanship and attention to detail.

In early 2026, Ryan joined the Avanti team, bringing with him valuable experience and a genuine enthusiasm for all things automotive. His dedication to delivering high standards of service and his practical, hands-on approach make him a valued member of the workshop.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys making the most of New Zealand's outdoors, spending his time fishing and diving whenever he can. He also has a keen interest in classic cars and enjoys being involved in the automotive community beyond the workshop.

Mark Gregson

Service Reception

Mark brings a wealth of experience as an Automotive Electrician, with a long-standing career in the automotive industry. Originally from Whangarei, Mark is now based in Auckland, where he has worked across various industries and owned several businesses. His extensive knowledge and passion for customer service make him a valuable asset at the front of house at Avanti.

When he’s not at work, Mark enjoys retreating to his place in Whangarei and exploring the world with his wife, often visiting their children overseas.

Michael Childs

Owner / Master Technician / WOF Inspector

Michael's passion for cars has driven a successful 16-year career in the automotive field. Starting at Volkswagen, he advanced from apprentice to Master Technician, then moved to London in 2014 for a role with West London Audi, where he sharpened his diagnostic expertise. Returning to New Zealand, he served as Foreman for Bentley, Aston Martin and Lamborghini, upholding high standards in luxury automotive care. In 2018, Michael took over Avanti, building it into a successful enterprise. Away from the shop, he cherishes time with his wife in Hobsonville and enjoys mountain biking and golfing.
